Signs and symptoms of Childhood Hodgkin Lymphoma
A sign is a phenomenon that can be observed and confirmed by a doctor or a healthcare provider (for example, a rash). A symptom is something that only the person with whom he manifests can feel and know (pain or fatigue, for example).
The signs and symptoms of Hodgkin Lymphoma may also be caused by other medical conditions. Therefore, it is important to consult a doctor if any unusual symptoms occur.
The signs and symptoms of Hodgkin lymphoma are:
swollen lymph glands
This is usually due to common infections; they return to normal in a few weeks
they are most often those who are housed in the neck or above the collarbone that swell up, less frequently those located under the arm or seniors
It is usually painless
loss of appetite
discomfort
fatigue
lack of energy (lethargy)
itchy skin (pruritus)
Some symptoms of Hodgkin lymphoma are called widespread (systemic) symptoms or symptoms B. There are children with Hodgkin Lymphoma who have B symptoms:
unexplained fever
temperatures above 38 ° C without cause apparent
fever may be high for several days then switch from normal to below normal for days or weeks
important night sweats
the child sweats so much that his clothes or his sheets are wet and may need to be changed
unexplained weight loss
weight loss equivalent to at least 10% of body weight over a period of 6 months
B symptoms are usually associated with a more extensive disease and can play a role in the decision-making process relating to the treatment.
